About the project
The project ACT CLEAN is funded by the CENTRAL EUROPE Programme 2007-2013 (Interrreg IVB). The project supports eco-efficient production processes in SMEs by promoting their access to environmentally friendly technologies and management tools across Central Europe.
Background
EU directives and regulations require enterprises to comply with environmental standards and ensure eco‐efficient production processes.
But:
1) on one side, many SMEs still struggle or even fail to respond to EU requirements, as they don't have access to existing technological or managerial solutions developed in other parts of the region
2) on the other side, those SMEs that offer eco-efficient technologies and management tools often have no access to the markets where demand for their products exists.
To overcome this mismatch, Act Clean creates the first Central Europe‐wide network for cleaner production.
Act Clean connects outstanding national institutions in the field of cleaner production from all over the region.

☆ Transnational Act Clean network with permanent national contact points, connecting 200 outstandinginstitutions in the field of cleaner production
☆ Good practice database with over 1000 good practice examples of environmentally friendly technologies and activities
☆ Minimum 2500 SMEs reached via the Act Clean Network
☆ Cleaner production toolbox providing SMEs with selected tools for eco-efficiency
☆ Policy recommendations on incentives for the introduction of eco-innovations in SMEs
